Reviews for 'Jack'
From Julie, who lives in Worcestershire:
"I so enjoyed the first volume in this series and eagerly awaited the next catch-up with Jack. As I expected, it does not disappoint, following Jack from adolescence to early adulthood. Frank English writes with such realism, empathy and a wicked sense of humour which captivates the reader right from the first page. You get a real sense of life up north, with people living in hard times, yet just so accepting of their lot, and facing whatever life throws at them, with alacrity and an old fashioned warmth. Makes me wish for those long-gone times when neighbours were there for each other with whatever was needed, be it advice, help, or just a 'cup o sugar'! An absolutely heart-warming read which I know I will return to every time I need an injection of Frank English's wonderful words and humour. Roll on the next one, please Frank!"
